FAQs
Are dogs allowed in the studio?
Well behaved pets are allowed at the studios. You are responsible for any damages that occur during their stay. We also ask that you clean up very well from their visit.
Where do we put our trash?
Trash cans are located in the bathrooms. We ask that any dirty diapers, large items, or stinky items please get taken with you.
Do you have cleaning supplies?
There are cleaning supplies like brooms, dustpans, and vacuums in Studio A and B. There are cleaning wipes, glass cleaner, and paper towels in both studios. Go ahead and use any cleaning supplies you need for your sessions.
How do I enter and exit Studio A and Studio B?
Studio A is its own building, with a parking lot in front of it. You will type in the code given to you in the email to get access to the inside. Please lock the studio door behind you, it does not automatically lock. Studio B is in a shared building. It may already be unlocked during the hours of 9-5 for the other businesses in the building. If not, you will use the code in your email to get access to the building, then go in the first door to your left. That door can be locked from the inside when you’re shooting or with clients. Please lock the main door when you leave.
Where can my clients wait until I’m ready for their photos?
If you are running back to back sessions, we typically have sessions wait in their car, in the parking lot until their session time, then they can come inside.
Where is the best parking?
Studio A has a parking lot directly in front of the door, with 3 spots. There is additional street parking if needed. Studio B is in a business center which has parking all around it.
Can I have events at O’Hare Studios?
Small events, like 5-10 people can be held in the open area of Studio A. Events have custom pricing and have to be approved for the time and duration needed for that day. We base availability on the type of event. Please contact us for further information.
Are cake smashes allowed?
Yes. Just please give yourself enough time to clean up from the cake smash. Cleaning products are available in Studio A. There are potential fines for leaving a mess.
Do you include any additional photography items like light stands or flash photography items?
Studio A is equipped with professional lighting equipment and triggers. There is a 86” PLM system on the main light, but can be changed out to a 50x50 softbox as needed. You are also welcome to use any of your own lights, modifiers, etc.
Studio B has basic lighting with a ring light and an LED window light. You may bring in any additional lighting that you think you may need.
At this time we have a backdrop stand in the storage closet of Studio A for your use, but no other items like off camera lighting or flash photography items.
Do you have a newborn posing bean bag?
Not a bean bag per say, but we use a custom backdrop stand, with an ottoman for our “bean bag” shots. Keep in mind that newborn equipment, props, outfits, headbands, etc are an additional fee.
Is glitter or confetti allowed?
No glitter is allowed inside or outside. Large confetti is only allowed inside and if it’s cleaned up well. There are potential fines for poor cleanup. Confetti is not allowed outside since it’s pretty impossible to cleanup unfortunately. There will be fines for outdoor confetti or glitter.
What is your cancellation/reschedule/refund policy?
You can reschedule or cancel before two weeks of your booking appointment for Studio A or Studio B bookings. If it’s within two weeks of your booking, you will need to contact us to reschedule (you can reschedule one time per appointment) or a booking credit will be given. We are not responsible for individual photographers' ability to fill their scheduled studio time with bookings or clients including mini sessions not filling up. Therefore, refunds will not be issued for this reason.
Do you offer 30 minute bookings?
Not at this time. You can add 30 minutes to any booking you have made if the time is available, but you can’t do a single 30 minute booking on its own.
What if I need setup and tear down time?
We created a 30 minute add-on time if you need more time to set-up or tear down from your session. This is especially great for milestone sessions like birthdays, cake smashes, or holiday sessions with extra props.
Can I bring my own decorations and furniture pieces?
Of course! We welcome you to bring additional items you need for your session to make it special and unique to you.
What if I need images to promote to my clients?
You can use images from our sight (without clients in them) or email us for a specific image. You are also welcome to attend any “promo days” we offer at the beginning of each season.
